The Hippopotamus on Page 567
"I shoot the Hippopotamus
with bullets made of platinum,
Because if I use leaden ones
his hide is sure to flatten'em."
The guy is hunting Hippopotamus' and knows that they have very tough skin. He has to use a high quality bullet otherwise they may not work/penetrate. From this poem, you can learn many things. Hippos have tough skin, and you know what will work when shooting them. This poem also sounds like the guy knows this from past failures.

Great paraphrase of this poem. It's funny how such practical information can be changed into a quirky little poem just by the choice of some rhyming words. It's tone reminds me of Mother Goose! :)
